NOTE: The AlgoForce E1500 Basic Package does not include either a coil or a power bank. Thus, you need to have your own coils and power banks ready. The strength of the E1500 lies in its sensitivity to small nuggets. Therefore, we have only tested the E1500 with small to medium coils. The largest coil we tested is the NF 14”x9” Evo. Although, in theory, larger coils will work with the E1500 control box without any problem, the shaft could rotate slightly and become wobbly when extra-large and heavy coils are used. The shaft is made of 3 pieces of carbon fiber rods. The lower piece cannot rotate with respect to the middle piece. However, the middle piece can rotate freely with respect to the upper piece when the upper hand-tighten spin lock is released. This is by design. This design offers advantages such as the ability to rotate the coil for compact storage and accommodating users who prefer a slight tilt in the handle for comfort. For small to medium coils, the upper hand-tighten spin lock can firmly secure the middle piece when tightened. However, for extra-large and heavy coils, it could become slightly loose. Please also note that over-tightening the spin locks could cause damage to them.

1. Three User Modes

The previous Standard Mode has been renamed to Intermediate Mode.
A new Standard Mode has been added, tailored specifically for beginners who want maximum simplicity.
Advanced Mode remains available for expert users who prefer full control.

2. Quick Start Guide in Standard Mode

When powered on in Standard Mode, the detector now launches a simple 7-step Quick Start Guide to help new users get detecting quickly and confidently.

The guide walks through:

Coil Calibration
Detection Mode Selection
Frequency Scan
Volume & Vibration Adjustment
Sensitivity Adjustment
Ground Balance
Display Adjustment

This guided workflow ensures new users start with optimal settings right from the beginning.

3. Restored Flexibility in Advanced Mode

Based on community feedback, Advanced Mode now gives full access to all detection modes:

Modes for which the coil is not ideally calibrated will still appear greyed out to indicate they are not optimal.
Greyed-out modes are now selectable.
The real-time coil status for the currently selected mode can be viewed in the Coil Selection menu, with three possible states:
Uncalibrated
Ready
Not Optimal

The E1500 Plus maintains the outstanding detection performance of the original E1500 with thoughtful upgrades designed for improved usability:

Enhanced Speaker Volume: Featuring a louder and crisper speaker, the E1500 Plus is perfect for environments requiring higher sound output.
Optimised Headphone Connector Placement: While the E1500’s headphone connector is positioned at the rear of the control box, the E1500 Plus places it conveniently in the handle, with an extension cable secured along the upper shaft for easier user access.

2. Coils larger than NF 14”x9” Evo with electrical parameters within spec will work with the E1500 Plus control box. However, the shaft may become wobbly with extra-large, heavy coils. Over-tightening the spin locks could also cause damage.

Proven again and again across Australian goldfields including the Palmer here in FNQ where it’s has found gold first time out.

One of the key features of the Algoforce E1500 Plus that separates it from other PI detectors is the Pinpoint function.

This allows you to get a “conductivity Number” on your target. Very useful if you are consistently getting a certain type of junk target (eg: lots of shotgun pellets or large trash targets). While the old Gold detecting saying “dig everything” has some Validity in more pristine areas that’s not the reality of many of our gold areas that are littered with the long lasting junk left behind by the old timers. Being selective of the targets you dig can be the difference between gold and no gold on a trip.
