NightSkySecrets & De-Tect-It Australia thanks to Palmerville Station, are Co-Hosting an Astronomy Dinner, Gold Prospecting & detector Training expedition in the historic gold mining area of the Palmer River Goldfields.
NightSkySecrets will be doing one of their acclaimed Astronomy dinner tours Co-hosted by Ian & Rose with a laser guided tour, big telescope views & campfire Astronomy tales.
Fireside Astronomy Stories
Dinner will be catered by our renowned chef Linton from De-Tect-It Australia, with homestyle bush cooking for a hearty dinner.
Prospecting and detecting will be in small groups with Linton & Ian providing guidance and training where required & Detectors are even available for hire if needed onsite. Booking for detector hire prior essential & 10% off on a 1 day hire will cover the whole session ! or we have a range of 1st class Gold detectors available from Nightskysecrets to suit the Beginner to the expert (Pre Order required)
We will have special access to new detecting areas for our group.
The Camp will be in relative bush Luxury in the Palmerville Station Miners Huts (twin share) hosted by Frog & Kerry of Palmerville campground for 2 nights “Glamping”, on the Friday and Saturday the 5th & 6th of July , checking out on Sunday the 7th. We will provide a simple breakfast and some wraps for Lunch each day as well (self Serve)
While this is in relative comfort for a detecting trip, you will a few simple things :
A well equipped 4WD, Detecting Snacks and BYO drinks for the evenings, Sturdy (non metallic) hiking boots, a good water bottle, current Dept of Resources Fossicking Licence (Available from Nightskysecrets or online) , and above all a sense of adventure and a curiosity for the past, nature & where’s the GOLD 🙂
Important: There are some Bio Security requirements from the station around vehicle cleaning & online registration which we will detail further.
